Contest Hopper is not a scraper. Every listing is manually reviewed before it's published — and checked again every 24 hours. Here's the exact process.
Most contest directories are built once and left to run on autopilot. They scrape listings, dump them into a database, and never check them again. The result: expired deadlines still marked "Open." Prize amounts that changed months ago. Registration links that redirect to error pages. Competitions that got cancelled with no update.
This is the core reason most contest directories become useless within weeks of launching. The information goes stale and nobody fixes it because there's no incentive — the site still gets traffic either way.
Contest Hopper was built specifically to solve this. We built the verification infrastructure first, before anything else, because a contest aggregator with bad data is worse than no aggregator at all.
Every day, Contest Hopper gathers new contest listings from 200+ sources — Devfolio, Unstop, HackerEarth, Kaggle, Topcoder, HackerRank, photography communities, design platforms, and college portals across India and globally. This raw collection is never published directly.
Before a contest appears on Contest Hopper, a human reviewer checks four things: (1) the submission deadline is accurate and matches the official page, (2) the organizer is a real entity — not a spam account or fabricated competition, (3) the prize details are correct and match what's actually on offer, (4) the registration link is working and leads to the right page. If any check fails, the listing is discarded.
Every active listing is re-checked every 24 hours. Contests change — deadlines get extended, prizes get updated, competitions get cancelled, URLs move. Our 24-hour cycle catches these changes before they affect you. A contest that closed yesterday will not appear as open today.
When a contest deadline passes, the listing is automatically flagged for removal. When a link breaks or redirects incorrectly, it's removed. We do not keep expired contests in the feed marked as 'closed' — they disappear. The feed shows only what you can still enter.
Anyone can flag a listing they believe is outdated, inaccurate, or broken. Flagged listings are reviewed the same day. Every report is taken seriously — this is our second layer of quality control for the cases that slip past the automated cycle.
When you're looking for a contest to enter, you're making a time investment. Reading the brief, preparing your submission, meeting the deadline — these take real hours. Discovering the competition after you've prepared, because the listing had a wrong deadline, is genuinely costly.
Our verification process exists to protect that investment. Every listing on Contest Hopper is something you can act on right now — not something that closed three weeks ago and never got updated.
As of April 2026, Contest Hopper tracks 500+ verified active competitions across 12 categories. The number is intentionally lower than platforms that publish everything without review. We'd rather show you 500 accurate listings than 5,000 questionable ones.
500+ active competitions. Verified, filtered, and updated every 24 hours.
